Initials |
To make my initials look like this I used a clipping mask. What a clipping mask is/does is when you make your own designs using shapes in illustrator and use a tool such as a twirl tool to make is into an illusion. After that you select both your letter and then your created background and apply the clipping mask and it forms to the shape you want it to. Then to finish the piece I added a black background.

Candy Lover (in the making)Candy Lover (finished) |
For this project I'm making a "Candy Lover" text. I started with a normal font and then used the pen tool to add accents of curved white lines to make it look like candy. After that I started to make the candy, I followed the online tutorial on how to make them. Some of the candy I made I didn't like the appearance so I changed a few things: coloring, shadows, and shape. I made the candy dots with ellipse tool and pen tool and used gradient to make the shadows appear. Also, the dots appear to be 3D and glossy by using a gradient tool and changing the opacity. Now I'm working on the other candy and just finished making the rainbow circles. How I made the circles is stacking 3 different sized circles on each other then used the shape building tool to get the center open.

I've added more candy, all made with the pen tool. I followed the online demonstration on how to make the candy look, I changed a few of them that I didn't like how they looked. After that I put all the candy together behind the text, similar to how the online demonstration I followed. All of the candy is made from many layers and gradients to give it the 3D definition.
